CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ONE ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN BIOENGINEERING IN THE FRAMEWORK of the Program Department of Excellence in Robotics & A.I.

A new position of Associate Professor with tenure in the area at the interface between Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Biomedical Engineering is going to be opened at The BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, within a Strategic Initiative aimed at building a world-class “Department in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence”, with 15M€ investments from the Ministry of Education and Research.
In an attempt to strengthening its international position in the field of robotics science and engineering, and to enhancing the areas of expertise already developed in the faculty, The BioRobotics Institute is looking for experts in the area of artificial and/or natural intelligence but interested in addressing multidisciplinary research that includes the design, development and assessment of robots at large, and of bioinspired and biomedical systems.

PROFILE

We are looking for an expert in bioengineering, with specific reference to: concept, design and fabrication of autonomous intelligent systems; study and modelling of the natural and/or artificial intelligence, aimed at developing models for the implementation of intelligent behaviors in biomedical and/or biomimetic devices and robots, and/or for explaining pathological conditions with modelling tools.
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses at all levels, within the context and requirements defined the scientific disciplinary sector. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both in English and in Italian.
